Last minute thriller bags win for Luckies

Craig Powell was said to be overjoyed with his side's hard-earned and dramatic win over Team Wolf on Monday night. He said "I'm overjoyed. It was a hard earned and dramatic win."

After going 1-0 down, 2-1 down and even 3-2 down, Strikeitlucky showed the qualities that won them the league last season - footballs of steel!
The boys created chances but this left big gaps at the back and this must be an area of concern for Powell. He said "We keep leaving gaps at the back and this is an area of concern for us."

Early scares came with a series of chances for Team Wolf and thanks to some unorthadox but cracking saves from Mark Edgar and stout defending from Nick Belcher and Jason Bell, a 5-0 lead was avoided. From then on the game was open and both teams had several chances including Gary Hudson hitting the post after the keeper made a mistake.
Matt Kingston continued his form with the first two goals to keep the Luckies in the game, the second slotted home after an exquisite first time pass from playmaker Elliott Dempsey. However, it looked as though they may have thrown it away when Team Wolf made it 3-2 with 5 minutes to go.
It took the sort of effort and determination that they needed to win the league last season for Strikeitlucky to fight back, again, and draw level through Gary Hudson.
(It was just as well he scored as later on he stopped whilst through on goal thinking Pitch 3's whistle was ours! Only jokin Gaz!)

And then, in the last minute a cross from the hard-working Jamie Steptoe was dummied by Hudson and the predator that is Steve Steptoe tapped in in the only way he could, a backheel!
4-3 and surely all over?! It was. The next whistle was the final whistle. A great result against a team that last week were two divisions higher.

There is no game next week due to the bank holiday so it looks like the team will have a hard earned rest. We asked Powell what the teams plans were - He said "Well, there is no game due to the bank holiday so the team will have a hard earned rest."

Powell sat the game out due to chronic fatigue brought on by CentreParcs! Lucky it didn't affect his interview with us eh?!
