Strikeitlucky go down but not without a fight!

Strikeitlucky were relegated from Division 2 on Monday night after a closely fought 6-4 defeat to league leaders The Star Inn.
The loss is their fifth in a row but they don't really care a great deal!
It's not about the winning but the taking part. (Winning is nicer though!)

The lads were unlucky by the time the final whistle came as they had clawed their way back from firstly 5-1, then 6-2 down and finished the much stronger team. It just goes to show how tight this league is and that the boys have been a bit unlucky at times.

However, the reality is that they will be playing Div 3 football next season, and the exciting point that this brings is that old rivals will once again be faced! It is quite likely that Sam Hams Allstars will once again be in our league, along with Team Wolf, Botley Rice Rovers and the Blackwell Boys. To be honest, it feels like Div 3 is where Strikeitlucky belongs and it should make for a very exciting 7 weeks!

In the meantime, two more familiar teams will play us in the remaining 2 games of Div 2, Real Rational FC, who are on form but lost to us in a our only previous meeting, and Marlborough Ignition, who are very equal to us in ability and have shared the spoils in our two previous meetings.
Lets go out and enjoy ourselves boys and try our best to get Tony and Nick a goal!
